I performed on Colin O’Brien’s well-received CD, “Pressure in the West,” recorded and produced by Willy Porter, one of Milwaukee’s many great musicians. Colin and Mike Bieser and I subsequently formed a trio, the Headless Chickens, and regularly performed at Milwaukee’s Summerfest festival along the lake walk for about six or seven years. I remember Willy Porter saying “you’ve got chops,” and saying he thought the sound of my violin was “smoky.”
