Musical Education

Carleton College (Northfield, MN) – B.A., magna cum laude, 1994

Played second violin in Carleton College Symphony

Studied classical & jazz with Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra violinist & featured soloist Glenn Asch.

Studied jazz with famed MKE saxophonist Berkeley Fudge.

First teacher and father is Will Schmid, author of Hal Leonard Guitar Method, many other books, UWM music department chair, past MENC president.

Four-time nominee for Wisconsin state music industry awards as instrumentalist.

High school string quartet musical exchange to Latvia & Russia, college orchestra.

Learned fiddlin’ from folk and bluegrass legends at Pickin’ & Grinnin’ festivals.
